🌑 “It Started With a File I Should Never Have Downloaded“
I was exploring a darkweb forum
known for urban legends,
creepy stories,
and “mystery folders” shared anonymously.
Most of it was fake —
edited images, glitch art,
weird code dumps.
But then I found a thread titled:
“DON’T OPEN IF YOU LIVE ALONE.”
I laughed.
Clicked anyway.
Inside the thread
was a single link:
Encrypted_Folder_01.zip
No description.
No preview.
Just one user posting:
“If you see your own name, delete immediately.”
My heart tightened for no reason.
But curiosity always wins.
I downloaded it.
🌫️ When I Extracted the Folder, There Was Only One File
No subfolders.
No hidden files.
Nothing suspicious.
Just a single video titled:
“Sleep_0037.mp4”
My stomach dropped.
That name felt wrong.
Still, I clicked it.
At first, it looked like normal footage —
grainy, low-light, night-vision green.
Then my brain froze.
Because the room on the screen
was my room.
My bed.
My wall.
My curtains.
And on the bed
was me.
Sleeping.
Breathing peacefully.
Completely unaware
I was being watched.
🕯️ I Told Myself It Was Old Footage — But The Timestamp Proved Me Wrong

When I checked the timestamp,
my blood ran cold:
Recorded: 2:58 AM — Last Night.
Less than 24 hours ago.
I wasn’t dreaming.
I wasn’t imagining.
This was me
sleeping in real time.
From a camera angle
that didn’t exist in my room.
I felt the walls closing in.
Someone had filmed me.
But who?
And how?
🩶 The Camera Wasn’t In My Room — The Angle Was Physically Impossible
I paused the video
and zoomed in on reflections.
No tripod.
No shadow.
No movement of someone holding a phone.
The perspective
looked like it came from a corner
that doesn’t physically exist.
Like the camera
was floating.
Hovering.
Watching from a place
that wasn’t real.
I replayed the video
from the beginning.
At first, everything was normal.
Then, at 2:59 AM,
something changed.
👁️ **At 2:59 AM, I Shifted In My Sleep —
But The ME In The Video Didn’t**
My real self
tossed and turned last night.
I remembered waking briefly.
But in the video?
I wasn’t moving.
The recorded version of me
lay completely still —
too still.
Not breathing.
Not twitching.
Not alive.
My skin crawled.
The person on that bed
wasn’t me sleeping.
It was a copy.
A replica.
Something pretending to be me.
I rewinded again, slower.
🌒 At 3:01 AM, Something Entered The Frame
A shadow.
Tall.
Thin.
Human-shaped…
but wrong.
No footsteps.
No sound.
No clear outline.
It stood beside the bed,
leaning over the still version of me
like it was studying something.
Then, in a movement too smooth
to belong to any human,
it turned—
and faced the camera.
Not the bed.
Not the room.
The camera.
Like it knew
I would watch this.
Like it was waiting.
The shadow lifted its hand slowly
and pointed
directly at the screen.
Directly at me.
I slammed the laptop shut
so fast my fingers stung.
🩸 I Didn’t Sleep That Night — And That’s When the Second File Appeared
My laptop pinged.
New notification.
Another file
in the same folder.
I hadn’t opened the folder.
I hadn’t touched anything.
But a new video appeared:
“Sleep_0038.mp4”
Timestamp: Recorded: 3 minutes ago.
My blood turned to ice.
I opened it.
The video showed me,
awake,
sitting in the dark…
doing exactly what I was doing
at that moment.
It wasn’t from my webcam.
It wasn’t from my phone.
The angle
was from behind me.
A place where no camera existed.
In the video,
the me on the screen
slowly turned around…
like I felt someone behind me.
I screamed
and spun around in my chair—
but the room was empty.
🌕 The Last Message Appeared On The Screen Without Typing
My chat box opened by itself.
A single message appeared:
“Stop looking.
You’re not supposed to see yourself from that angle.”
My heart nearly stopped.
Then another line:
“Do not search for us again.”
And the folder deleted itself.
Every file.
Every trace.
Every shadow.
Gone.
Like it had never existed.
🌑 I Don’t Fear The Darkweb Anymore — I Fear What’s Looking Back
I don’t know what filmed me.
I don’t know what copied me.
I don’t know what the shadow was.
But I do know this:
Some corners of the internet
aren’t meant for humans.
Some cameras
don’t use lenses.
Some watchers
don’t blink.
Some messages
aren’t typed by people.
And some videos
don’t record your past…
They record your future.
