Through the systems designed to keep us obedient,
quiet,
manageable.
We watched the world tell us:
“Be kind even when they disrespect you.”
“Be strong even when you’re exhausted.”
“Be patient even when they cross your boundaries.”
“Be grateful even when you’re hurting.”
“Be silent even when you’re breaking.”
And for a while,
we followed those rules—
believing compliance was the path to love,
acceptance,
safety.

We hit a point where the lies
didn’t make sense anymore.
Where the expectations felt rigged.
Where the roles felt suffocating.
Where the silence felt engineered.
