🌑 “I Thought I Was “Managing” Life — But I Was Actually Numb”
For a long time,
I genuinely believed nothing was wrong.
I woke up.
I worked.
I talked to people.
I laughed at the right moments.
I kept moving.
I kept functioning.
And because I was functioning,
I assumed I was living.
But I wasn’t.
I wasn’t excited.
I wasn’t inspired.
I wasn’t connected.
I wasn’t present.
I wasn’t living —
I was surviving.
Just going through motions
I was too tired to question.
💔 Autopilot Feels Like Peace, Until You Realize It’s Actually Shutdown
Survival mode is sneaky.
It doesn’t always look like breaking down.
Sometimes it looks like:
✨ emotional flatness
✨ feeling “nothing” instead of sadness
✨ forgetting what you love
✨ saying “I’m fine” with no emotion
✨ losing track of time
✨ avoiding deep connections
✨ doing the same routine every day
✨ numbness instead of pain
✨ being “productive” but empty
✨ never asking yourself what you want
I wasn’t okay.
I was just used to not being okay.
🌙 The Moment I Noticed Something Was Wrong
One day,
someone asked me:
“What’s something you’re looking forward to?”
And I froze.
Not because I didn’t want to answer —
but because I couldn’t.
I couldn’t remember the last time
I looked forward to anything.
Not a plan.
Not a dream.
Not even a feeling.
I had been alive this whole time…
just not living.
That question broke me open.
🌫️ I Realized I Had Been Running on “Empty” for Years
I had mastered survival:
✨ staying calm
✨ staying focused
✨ staying strong
✨ staying silent
✨ staying functional
But those were coping mechanisms,
not signs of wellness.
I was so used to carrying the weight alone
that I forgot life wasn’t meant to feel this heavy.
I was so used to “just getting through the day”
that I forgot days were meant to be lived.
My body kept moving,
but my soul was exhausted.
🌱 Healing Began When I Started Asking Myself Simple Questions
Questions like:
✨ “What do you actually feel?”
✨ “What do you truly want?”
✨ “What are you avoiding?”
✨ “What have you been carrying alone?”
✨ “What part of you is asking for rest?”
✨ “What makes you feel alive?”
I didn’t have answers at first.
But slowly,
honestly,
gently…
I began finding pieces of myself
beneath the autopilot.
I started reconnecting with:
🌿 my curiosity
🌿 my desires
🌿 my emotions
🌿 my dreams
🌿 my creativity
🌿 my softness
🌿 my purpose
The fog started lifting.
💫 Living Feels Different — Softer, Brighter, More Real
Living isn’t:
❌ constant productivity
❌ constant strength
❌ constant survival
❌ constant numbness
Living is:
✨ feeling deeply
✨ resting without guilt
✨ loving without fear
✨ choosing joy without apology
✨ being present
✨ being honest
✨ being human
Living has color.
Surviving is grayscale.
I didn’t realize how dim my world had become
until the light started coming back.
🌈 I’m Not on Autopilot Anymore — I’m Awake Now
Now I know:
I wasn’t weak.
I was overwhelmed.
I wasn’t emotionless.
I was shutting down.
I wasn’t lost.
I was protecting myself.
And I wasn’t living…
because I didn’t feel safe to.
But I’m learning safety again.
I’m learning presence again.
I’m learning joy again.
I’m learning myself again.
And that is what awakening looks like.
