🌑 “People Thought I Changed — But I Just Became Selective”
There was a time
when everyone had access to the softest parts of me.
My kindness.
My patience.
My loyalty.
My time.
My emotional energy.
I gave freely.
I loved deeply.
I cared instinctively.
But somewhere along the way,
people mistook my softness
for something disposable.
They thought it was endless.
They thought it required no care.
They thought it was their right.
They thought it meant I would stay,
no matter how they treated me.
And when I finally stopped giving them
the softness they took for granted…
they called it “changing.”
But the truth was,
✨ I didn’t lose my softness —
I just stopped giving it to the wrong people. ✨
💔 I Used to Give My Heart to People Who Didn’t Know What to Do With It
I was soft with people who were careless.
Gentle with people who were harsh.
Understanding with people who never understood me.
Available to people who disappeared.
Forgiving to people who kept wounding me.
I gave chances they didn’t earn.
I offered support they never returned.
I extended empathy they didn’t appreciate.
They liked my softness
as long as it required nothing of them.
They loved my kindness
as long as it didn’t ask for accountability.
They enjoyed my loyalty
as long as it didn’t highlight their lack of it.
My softness became a service.
Not a gift.
🌙 The Breaking Point Was Quiet, But Clear
It happened slowly.
The more I poured,
the more empty I became.
The more I cared,
the more drained I felt.
The more I stayed soft
around people who couldn’t hold that softness…
the more I realized I was abandoning myself
to keep others comfortable.
Until one day,
I looked at myself and whispered:
“You’re allowed to stop.
You’re allowed to protect your heart.”
And with that,
everything shifted.
🌱 My Softness Didn’t Disappear — It Evolved
I started becoming gentle
with people who were gentle with me.
I became patient
with those who showed patience back.
I became giving
with those who appreciated effort.
I became open
with those who made vulnerability safe.
And for everyone else?
I stayed kind
but distant.
Compassionate
but unavailable.
Warm
but protected.
My softness didn’t fade —
it became intentional.
💫 Softness Without Boundaries Isn’t Love — It’s Self-Destruction
I learned that:
✨ Being soft doesn’t mean being accessible
✨ Being kind doesn’t mean tolerating disrespect
✨ Being forgiving doesn’t mean accepting repeated hurt
✨ Being caring doesn’t mean overextending
✨ Being loving doesn’t mean losing yourself
My softness is still here —
it’s just no longer free for everyone.
It’s reserved.
Protected.
Respected.
Selective.
It is no longer something people can take
just because they want it.
It is something they have to deserve.
🌈 The Right People Don’t Take Advantage of Your Softness — They Honor It
The right people:
✨ see your heart clearly
✨ appreciate your tenderness
✨ hold your vulnerability gently
✨ give as much as they receive
✨ protect your softness with their own
✨ never make you feel foolish for caring deeply
These are the people
who deserve your warmth.
These are the people
who make you feel safe being soft.
These are the people
who remind you:
Your softness was never the problem —
the access was.
🌟 I Didn’t Change — I Just Returned to Myself
People will say:
“You’re colder now.”
“You’re different.”
“You don’t care like you used to.”
But what they don’t understand is—
I care more than ever.
Just not for those who made me question my worth.
I love deeper than ever.
Just not where love wasn’t respected.
I’m softer than ever.
Just not towards those who hurt me.
This is not hardness.
This is healing.
